FRSTeam’s journey began in 1988 when Harry Meekma, while working for a local contractor in the Bay Area, recognized the need to help families recover clothing after loss or damage. He responded by founding Custom Commercial. Soon after, the Oakland Hills Fire highlighted the importance of garment restoration services nationwide and helped accelerate the company’s growth.

Custom Commercial later expanded into multiple states, including Washington, Oregon, and Colorado, building a strong reputation for compassionate customer care and technical expertise. Over time, it became clear that both insurance providers and customers needed a consistent national solution with dependable service standards. In 2006, Holly Murry, Courtney and Jim Nicholas, along with Ryan Meekma, launched the FRSTeam franchise system to expand these services nationwide with a mission to restore what matters most.
